Victory for #MeToo: Harvey Weinstein has found guilty. The downfall for the former Hollywood mogul

Weinstein, 67, was convicted in New York City of third-degree rape and first-degree criminal sexual act. The jury of seven men and five women reached their verdict on Monday morning. Weinstein has denied all chargers.

But the former producer was cleared of the most serious count of predatory sexual assault but faces up to 25 years in prison.
He still faces charges of assaulting two women in 2013 in LA.


At least 80 women had accused him of sexual misconduct stretching back decades, including actresses Gwyneth Paltrow, Uma Thurman and Salma Hayek. Another one of Weinstein's accusers, “Sopranos” actress Annabella Sciorra, told jurors he raped her in her apartment one night in the late-1990s.

Reporters say that he was taken to New York's Bellevue Hospital with chest pains after the verdict was announced. He was due to be moved to prison on Riker's Island to await sentencing approximately on March, 11th.
